BAFTA 2025 Games Awards: A Year of Awesome Gaming!
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has just announced the nominees for the 2025 Games Awards! This is a big deal in the gaming world, celebrating the best games from the past year.
Who Made the Cut?
The BAFTA members, over 1,300 of them, helped pick the nominees from a super long list of 58 games. The ceremony is happening on April 8, and it’s going to be a party for games released between November 25, 2023, and November 15, 2024.
Some of the games that made the list are *Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2*, *Astro Bot*, *Black Myth: Wukong*, and *Thank Goodness You’re Here*. Each of these games is unique and amazing in its own way!
Categories and Cool Nominees
Animation
The Animation category has some really cool games this year. *Astro Bot*, *Call of Duty: Black Ops 6*, *LEGO Horizon Adventures*, *Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2*, *Thank Goodness You’re Here*, and *Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2* are all nominated. These games have super awesome visuals and storytelling!
Artistic Achievement
In the Artistic Achievement category, we have *Astro Bot*, *Black Myth: Wukong*, *Harold Halibut*, *Neva*, *Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2*, *Still Wakes The Deep*, *Vampire Survivors*, and *World of Warcraft*. These games are not just fun to play, but they’re also really beautiful and creative!
Family and Game Beyond Entertainment
The Family category has some great games for everyone to enjoy, like *Astro Bot*, *Cat Quest 3*, *LEGO Horizon Adventures*, *Little Kitty, Big City*, *The Plucky Squire*, and *Super Mario Party Jamboree*. The Game Beyond Entertainment category has games that are not just fun, but also make you think and feel, like *Botany Manor*, *Kind Words 2 (LOFI CITY POP)*, *Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2*, and *Tales of Kenzera: ZAU*.
Performance Categories
The performance categories have a lot of newcomers this year! Out of 13 nominations, 11 are first-time BAFTA nominees. Some of the amazing performances include Alec Newman in *Still Wakes The Deep* and Melina Juergens in *Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2*.
